Some might say that BEV’s may ‘make sense’ for a lot of people, and they theoretically might. But the market has shown that most of them (myself included) just don’t want one.

With Nissan being in dire financial straits, plus the burgeoning pandemic-driven global recession, it might be a miracle if Nissan even survives three more years, let alone launch a niche sports car like the Z.
+1 !!!!!
Thank you Tee Fucking Hee.
Thank you progressive1.
“... a manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, and a limited-slip differential.”
Many millions of people have been deeply hurt by the pandemic, and we are fast approaching two hundred thousand American deaths. So many people have lost their jobs and suffered tremendous financial and other hardships. Even for those who have so far escaped some of the worst direct agonies of the pandemic, the…
This is yet another step in the slow-moving fascist/Republican (same thing nowadays) revolution happening in our country. Revolutions aren’t always fast and involve tanks and guns. The one we are living through has been going on for the past 4 years (with a much longer run-up). Our democracy is being whittled away one…
What an absolutely gorgeous car! Thank you Jason! I never knew about these!
My how far the once-mighty have fallen. The same company that in the past had the stones and guts to build a prototype turbine car, now is so conservative and afraid of risk that they buy their sports cars from Subaru (BRZ/86) and BMW (Supra).
It’s probably yet one more sign of how deeply disturbed I am, but I love that Lotus interior. It’s colorful. It’s fun. It’s so much more interesting than most of today’s interiors trimmed in various shades of black. I miss interiors like that.
If armed men in unmarked uniforms can drag a teenage transgender woman off the street into an equally unmarked van and haul her away, why is anyone surprised at this?
As AutoGuy said, Peter DeLorenzo has an excellent write up on autoextremist on Farley:
+1!!!
I think the Ford family is positioning the company to sell it to VW (who need a solution to their reputation/credibility problem in the US because of the dieselgate fiasco), and using BMW as a backup bidder. Both of them would love to add trucks, specifically the F150, to their product line.
This was inevitable. He was given one and only one mandate from the Ford family: jack up the stock price. As much as possible, as quickly as possible, doing whatever it took. He didn’t do that. Ford’s stock price is down about 50% over the past year, and is half of what it was when he got the job. I’m surprised they…
I totally support and love seeing any and all planetary exploration and cheer the successful launch. Though, it’s ironic it was only possible thanks to a Russian rocket engine. The Atlas 5 uses the Russian RD-180 main rocket engine. For years the primary way the US launched satellites was only with the use of a…
Thank you! I’ve read several books on the Soviet space program and never knew the Venera probes released balloons. It’s very impressive, especially considering the difficulty in successfully reaching the surface of another planet, the highly corrosive sulfuric acid atmosphere, and the 1980's technology they were…
I’m one of those people Gastelu claims don’t exist. I’ve written dozens of letters over the years to car manufacturers pleading for manual transmissions, and pester every dealer I’ve ever been to about them. An automatic is an absolute deal-breaker for me. Every new car I’ve ever bought has been a manual, and will…
