“$59 a car”
I’m sure Ford would happily embrace all of Tesla’s mistakes if it would get them Tesla’s market capitalization ($185 vs $25 billion).
So is putting the Tremec in the Mach 1 a not-so-subtle admission by Ford that the MT82 really is garbage? The Tremec 3160 is mentioned right in the press release - a week after the class-action lawsuit was filed on the MT82.
I’m thrilled they put the better transmission in the Mach 1. That significantly increases the…
Agree completely on this being the way of public American companies (I’ve worked for several). That’s what happens when it’s codified into law that a public company must “maximize shareholder value”. That priority takes precedence over everything else. It means squeezing and squeezing and squeezing costs out of…
I own a 2015 Mustang GT with one of these delightful manual transmissions. My experiences are probably atypical, both because at 60-something I don’t exactly beat on it as hard as some Mustang owners do, and with only 9000 miles my experiences aren’t long-term.
+1!!
Interesting, but it’s a good this thing comes with a 1.1 hp motor and tops out at 20 mph.
Bring-a-Trailer is the new Barrett-Jackson. With the COVID-19 pandemic having shut down most car auctions, the rich and foolish have had to go on-line to find new ways to throw their money around and show off how much more wealth they have than common sense.
FWIW, I’ve bought over 100 cars since 1974. About 1/2 of them new. All but two have been sticks (any car I’ve ever bought new has been a stick). I’d be one of first people to buy an AWD/turbo/manual Mazda 3 hatchback.

Of course it’s thermodynamically more efficient to burn something in a large central generating station than multiple smaller units. That’s not the point. The point is that just because something is “battery powered” doesn’t automatically make it good for the planet, regardless of what some sanctimonious pseudo-green…
Early Miata’s seem to often sell for insane prices. But on craigslist? Really?
On the surface, this looks like a “green” initiative, calling it the ‘zero emissions’ tanker. But it’s hypocritical of Japan, given that they’re rushing to build 22 new coal-fired electric generating plants to take the place of the nuclear plants they’re closing:
This is what happens when people ignore the reality of global climate change. You get 500 year floods every few years. Rising waters don’t care about anyone’s political beliefs. They come just the same.
I’ve not only driven a S550 Mustang, I own one, a 2015 GT (with the less than delightful Chinese-made MT82 manual transmission), which is why I made the observation that the 370Z has better build quality and reliability. The Mustang certainly provides maximum hp for the buck, but it’s built like a Playskool Little…
Many people gripe about how 370Z car is ‘outdated’, and desperately needs ‘updating’. What’s really ‘outdated’ about the car other than the infotainment interface?
Whatever you might think of this car, there’s no denying a 1.8 liter V6 was just more interesting than the ubiquitous 2 liter turbo-4 that seems to power almost everything these days. Or worse yet, the coming 3-cylinder engines that will probably become the new standard.
This is how conniving plutocrats (and Republicans, usually the same thing) manipulate people and get them to act against their own best interests. They spew a lot of bullshit and twist their message by invoking God, guns, and patriotism. Like now with the coronavirus, screaming ‘freedom’, ‘first amendment rights’, and…
Musk’s credentials in virology, epidemiology, and public health to make these pontifications are what exactly?
