and there’s Starfox Zero coming for Wii U, too...

This is a well-written, thought-provoking article.

I was more referring to the arguing in the comments section about whether these numbers were true and how not all typing tests are created equal etc etc etc.

This thread proved to me that people will wave their dicks around about anything, including how fast they can type.

I use one finger and can type 150 words per minute:

who looks at the keyboard? you have to look at the words youre typing or youd be slower

The IRS will accept this as the reason my taxes are screwy, right?
“I jumped on a cloud when I should have stomped on the koopa. But otherwise they’re totally right! When can I expect my mushroom to be deposited into my account?”

Ah, now I wanna see Bowser steal it, and run amok.

Finally, an explanation

That’s not true. We cover plenty of successfully Kickstarted games on Kotaku - we just cover them as GAMES, not Kickstarter projects. When we talk about games like Undertale or Shovel Knight or Pillars of Eternity, the fact that they were Kickstarted is just a footnote.

They stole nothing. They asked the public to invest in their idea and people did. How do people still not understand that Kickstarter is NOT a store to buy stuff. It’s a place to invest in ideas. If the idea comes to fruition, then you will get something for that investment. If not, oh well.

Wow. Having backed a few Kickstarters in the past, news like this makes me terrified to ever consider one ever again. I realize you can’t judge them all the same but these failure stories are becoming way too common.

Also these kids:

I suppose hating on the inexplicable hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory for portraying nerds poorly is like hating the birds for singing: it’s just what they do

I can understand the first point, however I personally know too many people that don’t convert over to paying once they’ve torrented. It takes a special person to pay for what they already “own”.

I know pirates try to justify their actions, but pretty much all the reasons I’ve heard for why people pirate aren’t really good reasons. Even for things like benchmarking or making sure the game is any good before buying, there are plenty of other resources out there to help form an opinion without pirating. The only
