Dude...that version of the focus is a SLEEPER. Everyone talks about the late SVT models, but the standard 16v 5speed is...well Ford’s version of a 16v GTI, which is what is was originally designed to copy. But with a MUCH better rear suspension.
This is my thought. 24v VR6 and an O2M gearbox and you have a screamer.

I have found in actual use that the polarization adds CONTRAST. The light will reflect differently off the pavement vs. the ice, making them stand out.
