    The entire middle joint was shattered. They took a Ti plate the size of half a paper matchstick and just screwed all the pieces to either it or each other. Then your bone grows around the metal to fill in the gaps over time.

    That is what the Fiat gearbox does when worn. It won’t stay in gear. It will need a gearbox rebuild.

    I had some Cooper Response tires on my minivan that I thought were just fine.

    Man the car is real sensitive to alignment, bushing wear and spongy shocks. I redid the suspension with stiffer shocks and put new bushings in and the difference is SHOCKING. With the Michelin PSS on it I can even get the back end to come around under power.

    Wet on ramp. Turbo 1.8 Jetta wagon “short bumper.” Tires just did not hold. It had happened before. I knew the tires were crap. They came with the car. I was cheap. Up visiting my sick father. Better things to spend money on, etc. Not paying attention, turbo spooled up and the car started to plow. Tried to correct it…

    One more justification for my rule of ALWAYS keeping your window rolled up and door locked with dealing with police. I crack the window enough to pass my documents to the Po-Po. NEVER anything more and the door is LOCKED. Shit, I even roll my window up until they come back and knock.
