Is it just me or is the Mickey design in Disney Infinity way off? He looks like he came from one of those crappy bargain bin knockoff movies. I'm looking at pictures of mickey online and I can't figure out what's different, other than that his pupils are usually much lower. Could that be it? And seriously, how do

can you have same-sex relationships?

Yes that's exactly right. My only complaint with the 2DS is lack of good color options. Give me my atomic purple, dammit!

...meaning you use it on the toilet? Still? That's impressive.

Yes, I forgot about that. Definitely. I just wish it came in more/better colors.

I love the form factor of the Gameboy Color. It's not trying to be slim or sexy like a smartphone. It's just a great plastic toy. The best toy a kid could hope for back then. I wish they would bring something like this back, maybe for a cheaper, younger demographic, lower-tier product line.

I could be mistaken, but didn't this trend originate with "Disneybounding"? Disney fans wanted to cosplay their favorite characters when visiting the Disney parks, but Disney has a strict no-costume policy (so that little kids don't get confused by fake Cinderellas), so they started this thing where they design

You guys ever notice how pop culture tends to trickle down by age group, with little kids catching on to trends after older teens have already abandoned them?

Well my first sentence shows that I didn't play the game. Anyways, my beef is not with the game. I'm not criticizing the game (other than the jab I made at the animation) so you don't need to rush to defend it. I'm criticizing this article - this one journalist's opinion.

bla bla bla attacking my ability to reason instead of responding to my actual arguments

I haven't played this or any Naughty Dog game, but I dislike the idea that a "breakthrough moment" for video games is a poorly animated non-interactive short film. It was a cute little video, and I thought it was well written. It made me feel stuff. But I see nothing here that couldn't have just been a film.

May I ask where you were working and what your experience was like? I'm really interested in that field.

I always wished Pokemon had more of a leisurely vibe to it, rather than just barreling you down a linear 10-hour plot. I want to spend time just living in the Pokemon world and enjoying it, spending time with my Pokemon, shopping, chatting - typical lifesim stuff.

I never really heard or learned anything about Austrian politics while I was there - I heard more talk about Angela Merkel than any Austrian politician tbh. Everyone just seemed happy and healthy. It was refreshing.

I don't see why that's relevant to the discussion. If people liked it so much that they were willing to spend another $200 to buy a second one, that still reflects the merits and success of the system. Likewise, if the 360 only sold so many units because the consoles broke and people bought second consoles, it

How do you account for the enormous popularity of a game that's "worse than useless"? An indie game from an unknown studio with virtually no marketing, at that.

I don't remember those ones very well, but it seems to me that the vast majority of animated Disney movies follow the hero monomyth pretty closely, which always ends with evil being vanquished, and that the few films you listed are the exception to the rule.

Even if Ponyo is universally regarded as the worst Miyazaki movie, it still has the genetics of a Miyazaki movie which make it at odds with Disney movies in many ways. For example, Disney movies generally play to the vindictive, blood-thirsty qualities of audiences when at the end the villain, evil beyond redemption,
