All I got were some Hot Wheels....

Could not agree more. It’s a fad made popular by the likes of Richard Rawlings and the Fast N’ Loud crowd. Rust looks like what it is: oxidizing iron and on a car it’s a sign of decay and neglect. “I can’t afford proper prep and a new paint job, so I’ll just clearcoat over this rust. I’ll call it “patina” and add 20%

Only 52 passengers on that whole train? Am I the only one who sees that as a problem? I wonder if they (Amtrak) ever tried to calculate the operational costs per passenger. The Boston-NY Acela trains are always packed.

The IH Travelall needs its “Singer”.

What? I said... I can’t hear you!

Manufactured in the 1960s by the U.S.. I refer you to the M551 Sheridan.

Yeah, who really cares about the “truck” capabilities like GVWR and towing capacity? As long as it has a great infotainment system, right?

I don’t, unfortunately. I just know it was an open turret design. He was in a tank destroyer battalion that was attached to a mechanized cavalry group under Patton. Killed somewhere in France.

Yes I know. I lived in one for three years. The Shillelagh missile would hit its target if the gunner could track the target. But that’s assuming the electronics hasn’t been knocked out by the recoil from firing conventional ammo.

The history of armored vehicles is full of examples of really bad ideas. My grandfather was killed in one of those open topped tank destroyers, and as a kid trying to learn why, I never got a good explanation as to rationale of the open top (when everything else was armored). Now I’ve just grudgingly accepted it as a

How about big moveable gun, rotating closed turret, tracks, not much armor?

The top one has an open-topped turret and the crews were especially vulnerable to injuries from mortars, shrapnel, guys in trees with rifles.

I think your definition of “tank” disregards the entire category of light tank, such as the now retired M551 AR/AAV, which weighs in at a measly 16T, combat loaded, but carries a 152mm gun/launcher. There are numerous other examples of light tanks in other armies too.

Nobody is taking 10+ hour flights on a 737MAX.

Where to start?

Such thoughtfulness! If you get a flat tire while you have a bed full of mulch (or anything else), you have to unload the bed to get to the spare. What a great design. Perfect for trips to Whole Foods.

But you can attach shit to the roof with string.

So many articles about what autonomous vehicles will look like and what features they’ll have. These vehicles will not be mainstream until the driving algorithms (performance, collision avoidance, moral priorities, etc.) are ready for production and the liabilities figured out.

On the plus side, Turkmenistan has the “Door to Hell”.

According to the photos on the UAZ website, it comes with a glove box and the glove box even opens!
