Serena froze him out but Stiller gave a thoughtful response and had a decent back-and-forth with Brundle - even introduced him to his son. This post indicates that Stiller gave Brundle the same cold-shoulder as Serena which was definitely not the case.
For context to everyone unaware, this commenter wrote the book on four-wheel drive (basically):
Because he likes the way they look? The guy has put 400K on an NSX, I’d guess he likes them a lot.
I don’t think the i3 was too early. It was just too ugly. Too many companies fell into the trap of thinking they needed to make their EV look like it came from some crazy irobot future. Just make a regular looking car that happens to be EV and it will sell. That is why Tesla won.
The “thinking” involved a 10 million dollar donation from Lockheed to Franz Josef Strauß, then German Defence Minister.
I legit laughed my a** off at this one. Thank you.
I can more or less agree, I set my AC only about 2 times a year and keep it on auto. Volume I obviously use more often and tend to use the ones on the back of my steering wheel.
It’s not just that. The LSD and a little ground clearance and skid plates will get you to places where most Overlanding rigs setup camp. The lifts and tires are as often as not about image and even guys who do a lot of dirty camping aren’t going to super difficult sites.
Have you ever had to walk from the terminal to the far edge of extended parking in Pittsburgh? Some of those people just haven’t made it back to their car yet.
Frankly, a LSD, skids plates and a bit more ground clearance is all most people need to get a bit more outdoorsy. The target market for the “overlanding look” is people who want to drive on some dirt roads and camp off the grid...... No one buying a timberline is taking it to MOAB and running rock crawling trails.
Thinking about the circumstances that led to these abandoned cars is quite sad. Could be the owners traveled alone and died at their destination with no next of kin to be found.
It’s just a trim job, no need to make a big flap about it.
That driver was just plane not paying attention. This is probably a new low in his career and they’ll probably clip his wings after coming up short on this project.
I like the Maverick, and the review makes it sounds very appealing - very functional, economical, and it looks good too. But please don’t encourage people to buy these over crossovers. Most folks need crossovers. You know how I know? Because most folks buy crossovers. Why do they buy crossovers? Because they too are…
Until the tailgate’s cable anchor point rusts out. It’s countering a whole lotta force from those straps.
