You know what wasn’t a racing incident by every possible reading of the rulebook, Max shoving Lewis off track lap 1 at Imola. But because Lewis didn’t hit a wall and limped on in the race (well until a part broke completely and then he was okayish on pace), Max got off scott free.

Max ran Lewis off the track twice this year at lap 1, damaging his car twice. Both were more egregious than this was. Max literally left 0 room on either of those. On this one, Max had 3 car widths still available to him if he doesn't turn straight into Lewis. They are level with each other, neither has to give by the

I love Lando, but I was so sad to see it.

Everyone on Jalopnik seems to harp on how much longer car loans are getting, so I really was expecting something more significant than loans getting 10% longer in the last 10 years. Considering average new selling price has grown way more than that 10%, I really question the posited statements in this article.

Vettel is hugely overrated, rest seem more or less okay. Russell gets penalties for not having raced in a good car (consistently), Bottas gets a boost from that.

Meanwhile people bitch non-stop about F1 being uncompetitive despite qualifying including gems like this where 6 cars from 4 teams are within a 1/10th of a second

Can we please get an article properly ranting about the ludicrous bullshitting that is drag coefficient as a metric of supposed aerodynamic efficiency when this has the frontal area of a bus (because it is one).

The position of the prop axel looks about as stupid as humanly possible, and even if it has some adjustment during transformation, I doubt it has the rigidity, angle, depth to actually push even a tiny fraction of that power into the water. Even the hull design is highly questionable

Smaller tires are NOT going to make this problem less severe. Only worse, and Pirelli needs to be fired for their blatant incompetence and unethical malpractice.

Only think I really don’t like about this take is that there is nothing saying, or at least demonstrating yet the current plaid tires won’t go 200 MPH. But those tires are not RATED for 200+, and no matter where you are, if they blow at 200 MPH, aka above their rated speed, no one is going to help you. Now outside of

Yeah it is the exact same principle as the sailboat flying at an angle to the wind, because the propellers are at an angle to the direction of travel and thus are not rotating directly downwind.

I mean obviously if the equipment is acceptable and being a pretty big vehicle still (even if not mammoth like normal trucks).... then yes it has value for sure.

I hate the grill, love everything else. Who knows, maybe in person it will look better. Afterall, I’ll admit Kona’s look pretty decent the more you stare at them.

Don’t get too excited about things yet, the standard equipment list is a hidden kicker, heck you don’t even get cruise control on the base trim, and power seats are locked to the Lariat. Now, not saying we need all these things, but I do think the XL is more of a work truck than something consumers are going to buy.

Stop and go city driving is only ideal if you don’t use the brakes past the regen point. And short trips at city speeds are still really inefficient (stuff takes a while to warm up). I put 50k miles on my 2018 FFH before dumping it last year, highway and city driving and managed to hold 44.5 against epa 43/41, though

There is absolutely no reason a cvt has to suck at towing, but they are put in vehicles right now only for hyper-light duty optimized designs. Also reminder that this engine is only actually 120ish HP once the battery depletes so that’s the actual reason why tow rating is low. (one of the criteria is a specific rate

Really hate the scissor doors, and yeah its just way too much for what it is. Clearly Mazda expects the range extended version to be the actual product because this packaging is abysmal. But hey, more choice isn’t the worst thing ever.

Daily reminder... politics in general has a rather distinctive liberal shift in Europe. Radical left here is barely even left there, and their radical left is nigh unfathomable to Americans (not remotely comparable to even the most extreme examples you can think up).

Mazapin and Schumacher had a few passes back and forth, but that was literally the only on track action during the race itself.

The EV hummer is a huge waste of weight, but I think people massively are underestimating already how ludicrously heavy current cars are regardless. A Ford Edge is about the closest interior and exterior dimension match to a Tesla Model Y (minus road height. The Edge weighs between 3900 and 4500 lbs depending on
