More importantly IMO, the average car age in the US is 10 years and NOTHING comes close to TUV in any state, and many don't even have inspections at all. Or unsecured trailer loads etc etc.

I expect it all depends on the routes you take. I’ve yet to have to wait at any location, including traveling the day after christmas and just before Thanksgiving. Oh and New Years to New York.
One of the side effects of costco having dramatically higher minimum wages is getting people to genuinely care (or at least more lol).
These technologies look a lot more scalable than the extreme methods F1 uses to reach that same level. Cool. (Even as an EV owner). But yeah using an engine specifically in it’s high load low RPM efficiency band instead is something thats been tossed around a number of times, and it should increase fuel economy quite…
I’ve recently done a 250 mile (252 miles, returned with 6% charge) round trip on one charge in my Model Y LR sub freezing middle of a snowstorm still driving 70. (I don’t normally drive over 70, but if I feel safe I’ll go that speed regardless what others are doing).
You mean owned an EV in the mid 00's? (1900s) hahahaha. Columbia did 1000 EVs before the Model T was even a thought.
Sent a message, but no idea if I interpreted the email address right. That was some spam level stuff. Lol
That is an abhorrently ugly car. Now with that said, if the Volt wasn't a Chevy on the inside, it's a damn good car and looker.
Okay, so I’ve done both.... let me give you an example of the most common stop type. Get to the fast charger, plug in, walk <5 min to 5 Guys or something similar, order food, eat it and walk back to the car. Leave with more charge than you needed for next stop.
I did/do a similar length trip 3 times in the last 9 months in a MY (before hand I had a FFH, and exactly once I drove like a putz and did it on one tank of gas just to prove I could) . Now bladder is the biggest difference between us here I expect. I generally need to stop every 3-5 hours for a quick relief and/or…
300 miles in reasonable conditions (65, low AC usage etc). 200-250 miles in harsh conditions (below freezing or 90s, 75+ etc). Model Y just makes it (in my personal experience) doesn’t look like many if any non-Tesla’s clear the bar.
Reasonably roadtrip with sorry. Didn't mean commute.
This looks like a great secondary car EV in a multicar household, but 55 kW charging max is actually just not good enough to reasonably commute with. While the stated 150/250 kW chargers are mostly number hype, charging below 75 kW at a supercharger feels legitimately sluggish, and thankfully am extremely rare…
For me, my scariest drive was one of my first. A bridge on the way for a 2 hour drive was being redone and so the lanes lacked any shoulder and were even narrower than normal (before being expanded to 4 lanes both ways, this 4 lane (2 b 2) bridge was every friday and Sunday a hour+ delay on any trip during the…
It all depends on bladder and food ofc. Just knowing my own stop preferences. Sit down folks have even less negatives than grab and go.
This roughly matches my estimate of 0 difference <300 miles. Then 30 min slower per 500 miles. Of course YMMV, but comparing my old habits with a FFH to the current Model Y.
Meanwhile I’ve done three 3k+ plus roadtrips in my Model Y in the last 6 months (trips to and from parents are about that length). Additionally 250 mile round trips are not uncommon, so being able to actually non-stop it is a big improvement even in the winter (last one was 3 weeks ago to pick up my puppy).
Exactly. Hamilton was talking about being hit pretty hard and still no where near 100% back at the season finale.
My 18 ford fusion hybrid did this, and it was fine. I rather think the dial format is perfect for shifting honestly. Since Teslas already hold at a stop, and you are just pressing a button to “park” it’s sort-of already a half way in between.
Welcome to Apple (I mean Tesla sorry)
