I literally wrote a 40 page business plan about this exact idea last semester. Tabber hadn't shown up in our initial research. Kinda sucks because our professor really wanted us to pursue this.

I use my iPad everyday for absorbing all sorts of content. From the web, books, videos, reddit. Etc. I've also started using it as a study tool for class. Taking notes on PDF files saves me 100s of pages of paper.

At least facebook isn't making it. Their iPhone app is single handedly the worst written app in the app store. I've never seen something so buggy in my life, let alone in a top app.

What's sad about this is how irrelevant it is. Microsoft has done this hundreds of times. They'll introduce some new and excited technology with incredibly modern and innovative features only to give it the ax and have it never heard of again.

This is why thousands of nerds pray to their gods every night asking for George Lucas to be killed.

The thing about apple is they want their product improvements to result in something that "feels" faster. You constantly see them explaining their new specs as "twice as fast" or "9 times faster graphics." They want people to understand the meaning of "dual core A5" but more importantly they want people to "feel"

I'm with you completely on this. I've found Gizmodo to always have good reviews. They've always called out the negatives and highlighted the positives and its simply commenter's point of view that creates "bias"

Prob to meet Apple's March 2nd iPad 2 announcement. This is a first mover market, and they don't want to be caught playing catch up two times in a row.

I mean phones move so fast these days that a 2 year contract is bogus. Who can really wait 2 years? In that time you could have gone from a Motorola Razor to an iPhone. And its only moving faster. Phone companies really need to reevaluate their dusty contract terms.

yeah I recently built a desktop that covers all of my graphic/CPU intensive needs. I think I'll stick with my macbook for another year. or think about a macbook air =P

So I'm really tempted to sell my '08 white MacBook to Ebay and pick one of these up. But I've also heard they are planning a total overhaul for next year. I really don't want to be one generation behind again. Is it worth sucking it up another year? With my tax return this is probably the most free cash I'll have

If you need more why wouldn't you be using a iMac/tower? Keep in mind these are laptops.

Even if Sony leaves no one will follow. Selling on iTunes would become a competitive advantage for other companies. They will have access to customers Sony doesn't and there is no way they will give that up. For that same reason, Sony probably can't take the chance and leave iTunes.

The only reason I have hopes for a 2011 release is the sheer amount of time they have been working on this game. I mean its been what, 3 years? More now? They have to be getting close. And getting it out by the Holidays would be great business for them. Fingers crossed!

Torchlight is great, but its a little flat to me. Not as deep as Diablo or Diablo II. Still a fun play though.

@FrankenPC: Audio and visual effects are an art form, especially when executed so well in a movie like Tron. And if art isn't deep to you, you've got issues.

I'm really impressed they're not shying away. When it comes to competing with Apple, it's go big or go home. It's good to see they're pushing full force and differentiating themselves to truly be competitive.
