A friend of mine visited Thailand for exactly that reason, and to this day says it was the best diving of her life.
Thr problem is capacity. Batteries are heavy, and having a medium duty van or truck with enough battery power to have a usable range isn’t going to have a carrying capacity that could come close to a gas or diesel.

This was my first FD event, and it was a ton of fun. The heat wasn't great but the on track action and accessibility made it worth the price of admission. Great pictures!
