Myself, I haven't modified anything yet. I couldn't tell you exactly on crank numbers, but for wheel HP, some people on the forum are getting above 400 with simple bolt-ons and tune. But do keep in mind they detuned the LS3 for the SS. Just a simple tune can do a lot.
Sales will definitely slow down because of the changes coming, but I think with the expected price bump to extremely close to Corvette territory, sales will pick up on '14s again. And I might just sell my '14 to get a '15.
To be fair GM has held SS sales down intentionally. They only intended about 3,500 sales. They're right on target for that.
It is very puzzling that we would participate in an air war over Libya, a place we had little interest in, yet we will not come to Iraq's aid as it is overran by the worst form of Islamic extremism we have ever seen.
That was bugging me, too.
"I don't know shit about cars."
I like this.
The sunroof is also a standalone option. $55,810 with it. (Edit: Oops, 2014 model, you are correct on 2015s.)
Point on. And a number (not all) of the recalls in the recent flood are things that would usually be a TSB/TSU, but because of all the scrutiny they're getting, they are taking the safe route and recalling.
That's a low requirement for a customer loyalty discount.
Did you ever bother taking the car to another shop? The issues to me seem like what could possibly be an isolated (prior) issue with one specific vehicle, and a poorly managed dealership.
Gun sales spiked up because of the (unrealistic) threat of taking guns away. Nobody was threatening to take GM cars away. It's not really fair comparison.
