I’d argue that the practice of arguing over referee decisions in ultra slo-mo started off as a soccer thing. I remember going to Italy in the 90s and being so stoked to finally watch good soccer — only to turn on the sports shows and find them spending hours debating referee decisions with ever more slow-mo/ freeze…
