Yeah, I have the FFVI GBA version and it’s great. I really don’t understand why the subsequent ports have all been worse.

Just a reminder that the ideal versions of all these games (except 3) were the GBA ports, back when they gave a damn about making quality ports.
If you don’t got Mojo Nixon then your movie could use some fixin’!
I remember back in the day when I actively played World of Warcraft. Nearing the tail end of Cataclysm, the rift between “hardcore” raid and PvP players and “casual scrubs” was reaching a crescendo, and throughout the raiding guild I was in, were whispers of “WildStar;” a game that understood what “real MMO fans”…
The WB only has so many “classic” characters. Once you have gotten through Looney Tunes and DC heroes, you kind of gotta throw in other stuff. Its the Fortnite model without the money or influence.
So it’s a “serious” game where Arya Stark can fight Shaggy. That is weird right?
The technically correct nerds will come for you, but this was one fucked up “beta,” what with selling season passes and all and not making it clear when it would all end.
I didn’t play it, but I can see why people are pissed. Seems like it was more a test to see how much people would spend, and now that interest is dwin…
it’s for smash bros fans who hate smash bros. y’know, the ‘competitive’ players. they made the smash-like they dreamed of.
“The game just felt so soulless and mechanical to me.” this is exactly what happens when you take the kind of smash players who hate the chaos of smash bros and have them design their own smash-like game.
It’s weird that they launched this game as an online game instead of just releasing a game directly to the Switch and other platforms. Like who was this game even for? It was a kid toned game but the inclusion of characters like Rick and Morty and Game of Thrones characters made this gme feel confused about who its…
Man, this reminds me of how WB handled their DC MOBA, Infinite Crisis, some years back.
Surprised it’s coming back. But then again I thought the game wasn’t very fun so I haven’t been surprised by the decline in players. The game just felt so soulless and mechanical to me.
Want to say, this list is fine but some missing things I want to add.
Most of the games on that list are available as physical carts. I am not sure how we are “losing” all that much. Pokemon Bank, Home, and Transport suck to lose though.
The Aurors are literally magical cops, there’s no two ways about that.
Yes, “liberal” in the actual definition of the term (rightwing supporter of capitalism), not the way the US often uses it.
as preached by Jowling? Sure. According to her (and her books), there are not bad systems or institutions, just bad individuals. So just put a good individual in charge of the institution and bam! Everything is good forever. That’s why Harry Potter ends up a (good?) cop.
I never got the sense that this game was intended to be anything more than “virtual theme park for HP fans.” Yeah, quests and mechanics and stuff, but most of the praise I’ve seen is basically “It’s fun being able to fuck around in a 3D Hogwarts.” The Nemesis system would’ve added a layer of strategy onto the game,…
