This is actually not true.
Exactly! Change your work hours to reflect your desires rather than imposing your desires upon all of us.
This is the most compelling argument against DST year round.
In winter there’s a limited amount of daylight. That’s a reality we can’t avoid. I’d prefer that children leave the house when there’s more daylight. In the summer there’s an abundance of daylight. That’s a reality we can’t avoid. I’d prefer that children go to bed when the sun is setting, instead of telling them it’s…
I couldn't possibly give two shits about when the sun sets in winter, waking up to darkness for months will straight up give me depression.
People who like DST: It’s dark when I want to do the thing I want to do. Instead of doing that thing earlier/later how about everyone change time twice a year.
A lot of doctors and scientists have said that year-round DST would probably be bad for people, health wise:
We’ve been through this, dopes. Children will be waiting for busses or walking to school in the dark.
I used to be on a 4x10. It was miserable. Then they switched us to a slightly better 9-80 schedule: four 9 hour days with Fridays alternating between 8 hour days or off.
One of my friends started doing the 10 hour day/off an extra day work week a few years ago...the irony is, he uses most of that extra day off to sleep!
Or more time rolling back access to safe and legal abortion being that this is definitely one of the companies that tried their hardest to make sure Roe v. Wade was overturned...
Yet another Bigot-Chicken puff piece from The Takeout (c’mon, tell us how you really feel guys). Too bad they’re too busy coming up with the very “christian” idea of making at/near minimum wage workers work 14 hour shifts on their feet that they can’t formulate a company wide non-discrimination policy that covers…
Can and should are different things. I don’t know any nurse that’s happy they are overworked and underpaid.
I think they call it France... a country so strict they actually have laws to punish companies trying to push beyond.
Very true and odd are if you go to a hospital you will be. The resident seeing you is probably on hour 23 of his 4th 24hr shift that week.
One presumes this is designed to give their employees more time to spend in church?
“Can be done” is not the same as “reasonable” or “humane”. Also, I’m not sure I want to be treated by a healthcare worker in the tail end of a 3rd 12-hour day.
Yeah, that’s more reasonable. I think studies determined that for each hour over 8 hours you work, you start to lose productivity.
Screw Chick-fil-A, I want to work for this mythical company:
