I am way more sour on this whole debacle than I should be, but damn if this isn’t disappointing. This is a clown move by Sony and a real bad look.

Makes me wonder if the same person was working on the “PS5” variant of the trailer was also working the FF16 one (if that makes sense). That would make sense if they reused the same clipset or something and forgot to remove the fine print. Looking at it again, it was weird to not see an asterisk there, yeah.

This is what I was thinking. Mistakes happen, but man, what a mess.

I fear it might be a copy-paste error, because the asterisk isn’t attached to anything here, whereas other trailers said “CONSOLE EXCLUSIVE*”.

Microsoft: Outside of Kinect, you can put literally any Xbox One game you own, plus most of the major Xbox 360 and a handful of classic Xbox favorites into the Xbox Series X and they’ll play. Oh, and your Xbox One controllers will work on Series X, no questions asked.

It’s funny, because this kind of WAS what PS Plus was originally: an “instant game collection,” where you didn’t have to claim games every month, you just had access to all of them automatically (even if you weren't signed up when they were added).

I’m shocked they’re going back to this exclusive thing. As a LIFE long player since FF2, I have to say I’m wasn’t even very excited before they revealed it was exclusive. My PC can handle it but I’m feeling like I need to remind square why exclusives are generally bad (at least when it’s not first party).

Right...I also noticed that most of these are older entries in series (RE VII not RE 2 Remake, Last of Us instead of the sequel, etc) as well as base Persona 5 and Monster Hunter, not the expanded / complete editions. So most of these free games have already been deeply discounted on PSN for a long time. Don’t get me…

They talked about a mother crystal and that’s an element used heavily in FFXI and FFXIV. I’m optimistically excited that they will somehow find a way to connect the universes, as they’ve already done with a few franchises in XIV.

I just wanted some damn colour, some flare, but we’re getting XI/XIV mixed with Dark Souls plus the main lead is attractive and bloody so...I’m here for it.
