I don't know about you guys, but to me, every penny counts. Sure i'm paying a lot more than $99 over the course of two years. But that is a sunk cost, being that not having a phone is not an option (for me at least).

My point was, why turn them off at all if there is no purpose. If they don't want em flying around, ask people to put them away during takeoff. If they don't want cellular or wifi disturbance, ask people to put it in airplane mode.
