You like it the best because it IS the best.
I’m still on Team Martha. Clara is gone, bring back Martha goddammit!!!
It might start out the way people are suggesting initially (only among the rich ) but eventually governments will begin to subsidize these enhancements and probably even provide them free of cost to their entire populace. It won’t be a matter of social welfare or equality but rather of competitive advantage.
Thanks, I need to watch more of his era, I’ve just seen a few of the serials he was in.
I agree with your assessment 100%. This episode was hard to follow, in fact I found it much harder to follow than last week’s episode and I watched that one on acid.
The Doctor’s anti-gun, never-killing thing is basically a nuWho phenomena. He shot people or monsters many times in the older serials, and straight-up executed the bad guy ( who was already dying and defeated ) in The Talons of Weng-Chiang.
“Reversing the polarity” is a Dr. Who in-joke, can’t remember where it’s from right now as I’ve had a few beers, but it’s definitely a callback.
Find a tree and a big stick?
What target audience, huge nerds?
Time to come clean, you got that idea from Dan Simmon’s Hyperion Cantos didn’t you?
It’s all the seeds. There’s nothing unusual about this squash, it’s just a new variety that was thought to be extinct.
It looks a lot like a Guatemalan Blue, in fact exactly like one except for the coloring on the skin which is orange instead of blue. These are both types of winter squash and if it tastes anything like a Guatemalan Blue it is indeed like a Butternut more than a regular pumpkin.
I thought there was only ever one recorded instance of anyone even suggesting the idea, by a British officer during the French-Indian war IIRC. That wasn’t for genocidal purposes either, rather to take a fort.
Because he doesn’t realize what’s going on and remember all the other iterations until he’s right up against the diamond wall with the Veil blocking the passage behind him. It happens the same way every time, so he has no other choice but to either confess, give up or punch his way through over 2 billion years.
Not everything resets though, you see this multiple times throughout the episode. The picture of Clara doesn’t reset, it ages. The sea doesn’t reset, it’s filled with skulls. Small things do reset in the rooms, but this seems to only happen over the time-scale of each iteration of the doctor, not across them. That is…
Seriously, who cares? That’s not a plothole, it’s a nitpick.
After the Doctor finds the wall of diamond-stuff he realizes he’s in a closed-loop system and remembers all his other iterations. He says he can remember “it all, every time” around the 37:40 mark.
Could I get a source for that, it sounds interesting?
Do you have any idea how fucking great it feels to be in that kind of shape? Don’t feel sorry for them, it’s a lot of work but it feels incredible.
