How about giving it to someone who you think needs it or can make lots of use of it? Whether someone on the internet or just a friend who you know? I don't really think that's unethical. Although, I haven't been in your situation and I'm not a journalist, so I can't really tell.

Wish I could get one. I do have an old acer laptop (installed Linux Mint on it) though, which I use it for all my works, but you know, Chromebook pixel is something else. Good to see these great tutorials, although I might actually never get to use them :D but any ways, thanks for the great article.
