These put other Land Rovers to shame for lack of reliability.

I’m less shocked by that than someone not calling it a “W207"

That was... umm... catastrophic.

What’s horrible? The not getting paid for little things part? We charge for inspections if they’re more than just a courtesy inspection. Emissions inspections and pre purchase inspections we definitely get paid for.

Cracking factory AMG wheels is pretty rare these days. I’ve seen wrenches and railroad spikes puncture all the way through the barrel, and severe damage from direct impacts like curbs and in wrecks, but from potholes? Not so much. Unless they’re crappy tire store special wheels.

That’s impressive as hell and has to take more than just a pothole. I’ve seen these things slide into curbs going pretty fast and not do that kind of damage. Scheiße passiert. Do you have any more info on that one?

Same. But 5 minutes is often unrealistic depending on local geography and traffic conditions. I shoot for under 20 minutes unless it’s a larger repair like replacing heads or for certain adaptation procedures.

GM does a great job of making simple cars not so simple to do what should be simple services. I was just thinking Benz stuff, it’s been a long time since I’ve worked on anything else.

Actually pretty rare! Usually the tough ones can be accessed from behind fender liners.

He’s allowed to nitpick but I’m not? 😂

What I’ll probably get instead is sent back to the greys.

Most of us don’t charge for things that only take a few tenths. I often won’t charge for things under half an hour, especially if they’re getting other things done at the same time, even with no overlapping labor. We don’t charge labor for wipers or 90% of bulbs. Then there’s occasions where we’ll spend an hour

Car was in bay for 1.5 hours of you check time stamps. Where the video says the service started was when the engine was probably started to check trans fluid level as car was in the air at that point.

Check the time stamps buddy. Car pulls into bay at 12:54. The 2:11 time stamp is when the car is running on the lift to set the fluid level.

Fair enough. Didn’t look close enough at the picture to realize it was fake. The lower one appears to be functional though.

I can has?

Electric cars still have cooling systems. At least one. Many have a low temp system and a high temp system. But both will have heat exchangers (radiators), probably in the usual location.

I don’t feel so bad now. About 4k a year total for two Mercedes and a Ducati. All full coverage through state farm, two drivers. Geico was about 1k more a year.

These can be disassembled without damaging things. What’s the point of cutting it open?

It was probably barely on to begin with.
