I've read some stories on people who have figured out how to exploit scratch-off lottery tickets. I'm not sure if it ended in legal ramifications, but I know one guy actually went to work for the lottery company because he figured out the pattern and was able to predict winning tickets.

The lottery is nothing but a tax on stupid people. Just read the article on what's more likely to happen. You're 50 times more likely to be killed by lightning. Just go buy 50 tickets and wait lightning to strike.
