I just read on cnn.com the dog walker is recovering, and Gaga has offered a huge reward, no questions asked.

Shooting a stranger four times in the chest to steal a pair of dogs sounds completely insane to me. I’m not normally conspiracy minded but I have to wonder if the motive was more than just “lets steal a couple dogs for profit.” Feels like there could be some real rage there, meaning it was done specifically to hurt

Oh my god - I can’t believe someone shot a dog walker four times and stole the dogs? What the fuck!? This is horrible. I hope they catch the assailants quickly, the dog walker recovers fully, the pups are okay, and Gaga gets reunited with her beloved pets.

I’ll admit that I don’t understand photography, but I do recognize Sideshow Bob’s feet when I see them.

Normally the Ks look like Bratz Dolls, but I guess she decided to go for Megaman proportions this time.

Yeah the details of the study strongly suggest the difference between the diets is satiety — people eat more on the processed diet. They had to add fiber powder to the processed diet’s drinks in order to make the overall fiber content of the diets equivalent, which is a good clue about what’s driving the result here.

Seems to me this could be a matter of the less processed options being more volume for the same calories. Or less sugar/higher fiber, which probably makes a big difference even with the same carb macro. Also, micronutrient density.

Had to jump in on this. I think I make the best oatmeal ever! All organic is better, but do you....

I never do any prep. I just make a small amount at a time. Just add enough water and you should be good to go. If you don’t have enough then you will end up with concrete.

I love oatmeal cups! They are so easy to make, and when you add berries to them they feel like a dessert even though they are pretty healthy. I recently tried the overnight oats thing (way late on that bandwagon) and was suprised at how good they were. I really thought the texture would be weird, but they tasted fine,

If you go the overnight oats route then they stay pretty good and non-cement like. I usually use either almond, coconut, or regular milk for mine and they turn out just fine. I was worried that the texture was going to be off-putting, but I actually really enjoy them.

I wanted to start eating more oats. I tried oatmeal for a while, in various ways, but I just don’t care for it. Then I found this recipe:

I know one thing I noticed when I returned to the USA from a semester abroad in Italy was how sickeningly sweet all food tasted in the States. I lost a bunch of weight in Italy eating a bunch of different foods, including processed ones, but I swear I was eating less sugar than I had my entire life.

A friend of mine studied abroad in Spain, and also just immediately lost a ton of weight. Said they ate just a ton of fresh food there. Something about anecdata, but there does seem to be something here, doesn’t there?

I vacationed in Spain and lost seven pounds. The whole time I ate indulgent vacation meals. I never once “watched” what I ate. I’m active at the gym, so the walking around was actually a slow week for me, activity-wise.

My usual breakfast is steel-cut oatmeal with fruit in it, usually apples, or dried cranberries or dried bluebrries. Works pretty well. I prefer to cook my chicken strips as many of the pre-cooked ones are typically rubber tasting. You could also get a $5 chicken from Costco and use that over for 2-3 days.

I believe it! Eating fresh food and walking around a lot is #goals.

I like them! They’re seasoned (with garlic and pepper I think) and I find them flavorful in a good way. But you could totally cook your own chicken breast in batches, and maybe even freeze cooked strips to have on the ready.

These look fantastic, thanks Beth.

Serious question: Are the Trader Joe’s frozen chicken strips any good? Every frozen brand I have tried have this weird taste to them that makes them miserable to eat... and I’d rather just cook a fresh chicken breast in the oven (or a couple and have one left over to cut into strips for something).
