I think you’re confusing the president with Congress.
I think you’re confusing the president with Congress.
Preach it, brother. I generally agree with Hamilton on a number of things, but his idiotic insistence that the Senate needs to be abolished is stupid beyond comprehension. If he wants to see a real 2nd Civil War, trying to abolish the Senate would do exactly that.
This is the correct comment. It’s like HamNo either a) chose not to think critically or b) remember 6th grade civics that discussed why the government was set up as it is.
That person could still be a lame duck on day one if House and Senate leadership go on record swearing to block any move they make, like SCOTUS appointments for example, as a way out there hypothetical that hasn’t happened repeatedly in the last decade.
Yeah, I mean Obama got nothing done in his first term. I mean, apart from the affordable care act, the stimulus, regulating financial markets with dodd-frank, creating the CFPB, and appointing two justices to the supreme court. But you’re right, apart from roads, aqueducts, and hygiene what have the Romans ever done…
“we base those electoral college votes on states, rather than on population”
Presidential second terms are vastly less productive than their first. Lame duck terms are bad.
There’s some sweet question begging going on here.
I agree with this.
The web is rife with annoyances. Pop-over ads when you visit a page that you have to dismiss, sites that auto-play…
iOS/Android/Web: Choosing a place to visit can be easy, but choosing what to do there, on your budget, with friends…
Although I’ve been lucky enough to never get checked—glad you’re okay, BTW—I cannot tell you how often as a cyclist I can see people distracted when they’re driving.
ARGH, THIS!!! UPDATE THE POST, WESTBROOK!!!
i don’t. i text at stoplights.
#2 shouldn’t even be on a list like this. it should be something that drivers ed beats into people..
I give stars to every Mustang joke.
Anticipation is key! I’ve avoided a number of wrecks by realizing the other driver is a dumb ass.
Sounds like the Mazda driver was practicing tip #2, look pay attention to what’s happening in the distance.
This shouldn’t have to be said, but apparently, it falls under “common sense,” and we all know what THAT means:
This girl in front of me pulling out on the street this morning almost creamed a Mazda coming from the left because she didn’t look left again before pulling out. Luckily, the Mazda driver saw it coming and bounced over into the oncoming lane that had no cars on it.
