The difference is that this is actually a case covered by the First Amendment. If Kathy Griffin was investigated by the Secret Service and the AG at the request of the president and had her livelihood impacted (if you are on a no fly list, it’s real hard to go on tour), then this is a case of government censorship and

The difference is that this instance is actually about free speech — the government investigated her and intimidated her. The industry not supporting her isn’t the free speech issue, no matter how much it sucks for her, it’s the stuff that the government did that toed the line.

It made me cringe.

This is what dementia looks like.

The management of PG&E are murderers. Arrest them and seize the companies assets. Publicly owned utilities work elsewhere and it would be difficult to do a worse job than PG&E.

Perhaps you are all nicer than we thought.

My mom, too, my friend. And as I posted above, this is classic onset of dementia behavior.

The kind that comes in gallon cans with a plain white label.

Oh my god, my mom was the same way. She would wake up one day and be absolutely determined that her hairdresser needed to come make a house visit to apply temporary tattoos to her head, for example. Would nag us relentlessly to give her the phone so she could arrange this visit. We finally gave her the phone, figuring

Oh, he’s certainly colossally stupid, and says colossally stupid things (and always has).

I’m sorry to hear about your mom. I’m terrified of the idea of it happening to mine.

The enraging thing is how he brainlessly distills complex issues down to the most childish level imaginable...”they clean up the dead wood on the forest floor and it can’t make big fires”...”they say the people used to worry about a deep freeze and the atmosphere just stops”...it’s so laughably imbecilic.

How did you not go with sharpest arrow in the quiver?

Aside from Wakefield’s criminal activity, the whole anti-vax movement is just a huge example of recency bias. These parents have seen autistic kids and have never seen or heard of any child they know becoming blind or dying of measles. So as long as they believe that there is a ghost of a chance that vaccines cause

I lump Ghostbusters and Tremors together in the distinguished halls of brilliant horror-comedy, because both movies take their antagonists seriously. They’re comedies sure, but they both have their moments of genuine scariness, which I think makes them much more memorable. The Ghostbusters reboot made the fatal flaw

I have also been saying this! They had a ready-made charming well-liked protagonist who already had a built in reason to go on world-hopping adventures fighting monsters and instead they said “Wait wait wait...what if a mummy again but it turns out the love interest was also a secret mummy and they have an annoying

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: The real missed opportunity for Universal came back in 2000. Instead of adding an annoying kid and running back the same-but-terrible Mummy Returns, they should have taken that winning Fraser/Weisz/Hannah trio and churned out a franchise of Indiana

It should be: “When you Finnish here...”

“It is synonymous with having Trump’s name on our school in blackface,”

I’d argue it’s both. I think the racist assholes are more brazen about it right now, but it’s also just so much easier to capture their bullshit on camera...
