Or maybe I’m just an idiot. Here’s my old gal. Hydro disc brakes, 1x drivetrain. Quiet, solid, and a lot faster than she should be.

Old POS mountain bike’s can be rad AF! I have far more valuable rides, but my old Schwinn is my favorite when I just need to bomb the local trails around my neighborhood. I’ve had it for about 25 years and literally swapped everything part on it.* Yes, I’ve dropped a few pesos along the way, but it’s good for another

My dad also had one from that generation for a short while. V10, manual, RWD dually. Getting pulled over twice in the first week convinced him to trade it back for something that was a better match for his “respectable, small town businessman” persona.

CUV’s are so boring that I forgot about the Kia Sorento in that mid-size category.

These things fit into a weird, underserved niche that fits my wife’s current shopping needs. Smaller CUV’s like the Forester, Tiguan, CRV, etc., are the right size, but those models focus on utility, with rougher rides and less comfortable interiors. The 3-row models have the comfort she wants, but are just too large

I’m with you there. The brightwork kills the outdoorsy vibe.

I’m okay with the mildly updated body lines. The current gen looks handsome enough that it doesn’t need a radical redesign. These are on my shopping list once they hit local lots.

I agree. I’ve been considering a mid-size p/u for a while, but most are ugly or bland. This looks better than I anticipated for Wrangler+bed. I don’t understand all the hate from other commenters.

I would love an electric bike like this and I like the design direction, but my suburban setting requires breaking 55mph to make it around the block. Commuting to any other part of town would need 70mph to avoid becoming roadkill. I look forward to seeing what Fly Free develops in the future.

Ugh...My ideas are tailored for visual use only. Spoken, they become problematic.

Holy-grale.

I second Maya Kaimal. Good stuff.

Two stupid reasons:

Glad you found one you like! Maybe we an set up an Adopt-a-Truck program to help keep them on the road.

What the hell...there will be no more appropriate time for me to mini-photodump an article here:

Ooh...that’s good, too!

I’ve seen one like that! My work takes me to Taiwan regularly and I do my best to roam the countryside and photograph the cool farm trucks.

I’m with you on the “M1stang” badge. The correct branding is “Mx5tang,” obviously.

There have been a lot of great concepts, but the one I want in my driveway is the humble Nissan Nails. Just a quirky little pickup with a lot of funky tricks that add functionality.
