Since when Gen 1 didn’t assign genders to Pokemon (nidorans excepted) so I was free to decide which ones were male and female and arbitrarily decided the legendary birds were all female.

If we want to talk about retarded teams, look no further than Mystic. See “The Bird in the North” slogan and listing the Cerulean Cave on their subreddit as Articuno’s home despite its actual location being Seafoam Island, the southernmost location in Kanto. Ironic, considering they’re supposed to be the smart team.

I only picked Instinct because of the three Gen 1 Legendaries, Zapdos was the best. Her high speed and special stats combined with her then unique typing made her an absolute powerhouse. I plowed through most of Pokemon Stadium with that girl alone.
