Well I am going to try and beat resident evil 2 remake on hardcore mode, explore a little bit more of hollow Knight and try to finish Dragon ball fighter z story mode.
Now I want armored versions of other Pokemon! Give me Armored Exeggutor so I can call it Balls of Steel!
I have two friends that play PES regularly and this would have been a great opportunity to play online with them - I do not like efootbal enough to buy an efootball game. I was a bit disappointed.
Certainly, that is why I said “things I personally do not like”. If a competitor had been trash-talking my reaction would be to celebrate a victory enthusiastically but ignoring the person in question. I do not expect others to behave that way.
It still baffles me that Sega stopped making consoles. The Sega vs Nintendo rivalry shaped my early gaming years; it was stupid fun, but at the time Sega was edgy and Nintendo had Mario, Zelda and Metroid! Actually, at the time I tried to have a system from both companies, but consoles where a difficult luxury to…
True, I even bought the ost for the remake, because the hall needs that piece of music playing everytime I cross it.
Rpgs have great music all around, I agree. Also, a game series that people don’t talk about for the music is Resident Evil. The save room track is usually a soothing, sometimes melancholic piano piece that tells the player “outside is hell on earth, but here you can take a breather”.
This article is your companion piece to your own review of Bloodstained and is helpful to someone like me, who did not understand why you hate the term Metroidvania. Now I understand why you object to it’s use but I don’t agree with your reasons.
Great read! Although games are escapism and roleplay I tend to stick to my set of values when making decisions. Games like Bioshock, that present a choice such as save or harvest the little sisters, might as well not have it for me: I always spare instead of kill, I walk away instead of strike the final blow. I…
Are you sure that reply was meant for me?
Things that I don’t personally like: sore losers and poor winners. People that don’t shake hands and congratulate the opponent - unless there is good reason for that.
I can’t really agree that creating new genre names in order to better qualify and identify the peculiarities of a given work, while at the same time tagging the origins - Souls-like as per your example - is a bad thing.
It’s always good to read pieces like this. They serve to remind me that many many negative stereotypes still thrive in VGs, and pop culture in general.
The author of the review said it was “ one of the worst colloquialisms”, so it is actually even worse than just bad, in his opinion.
I am, at once, both intrigued and in complete disagreement on why you consider the term Metroidvania, a bad colloquialism. It is a term that is not only efficient - if you know the series it refers to - but also a door to understanding what it means if someone is reading it for the first time - a quick search for…
Difficult but maybe Shin Megami Tensei 4. It was my first SMT game and I quite enjoyed the story and gameplay.
For a while I refused to finish Horizon Zero Dawn. I just wanted to explore the world, fight mecha animals and soak up the melancholic beauty of the planet recovering from the brink.
MGS2 Sons of liberty had the game’s drone like enemy as a save icon;
The best lightsaber-like weapon in video-games is Raiden’s sword in MGS Rising. It cut through everything like a hot knife through butter!
