I can tell you, as an owner of a Synology NAS, it doesn't work very well being a plex server. I went with a Core I7 Windows PC as my Plex server, which none of my devices have any problems watching media from that server.

The basement wasn't finished when they laid the ethernet out. My house was only 1500 square feet finished, but they routed all the cables down a center portion of the house where the heating duct work runs. They were able to route the ethernet from the attic for the upstairs' rooms and from the basement for the…
I was considering two 802.11 ac routers a few years ago(one used as a router and one as a wireless bridge), but that was going to cost nearly $400 and would only give 802.11 ac speeds at the two locations (router and bridge location). I researched getting my house cat 6 wired, and it ended up only costing $535 to do…
I usually take a 15 minute walk, for my two daily breaks just so I get up and move around.
I tried the lastPass in Chrome on iOS but going to a website and then calling up lastPass for the password, it tells me "Your LastPass Vault has no matches for this web site. Add your login info now by touching 'Add New Login' below!' to a site I have my password saved in LastPass. Seems LastPass may need to do some…
Worse...the last Kansas city playoff win was against Houston...and not the Texans, the Oilers, and they left Houston in 1996.
The only time you ever 'give', not lend, if you can afford to give the money to person and not be upset without it.
I will agree with your statement, but the openness of XBMC allows you to add things Plex will never be able to.
I would say it has motivated me to get out and walk on a daily basis since I purchased my fitbit, and I have been at it for at least a year using it.
but if you want to have access to the media in Plex, it still needs to be scanned in. XBMC doesn't require the media to be scanned to be available, you just need to add the folders and not specify being a type of media.
Wow, this is the first time this has been posted on Lifehacker? I have used the fusion installer for a few years. Definitely a great post to have, since this gives you pretty much all the best add-ons for XBMC.
Wish you great luck in your future ventures, always enjoyed reading your Lifehacker posts, will definitely miss them.
being a old Subway manager, they have been doing the new cut long enough, I am not sure if the current crop of Subway employees will know how to do this cut, plus they have changed the knives so the old cut isn't as easy.
thewirecutter.com actually likes the NHT absolute 5.1 system as their favorite for their 'great' sounding surround speakers, and will save you a few dollars over the classic Four: http://www.nhthifi.com/Home-Theater-A…
XBMC does seem to be a little more crash prone on iOS 7 than it was on iOS 6, I have to reinstall the app it seems every other day.
XBMC works well with the new iOS 7 jailbreak, since that was the only thing keeping me from upgrading my jailbroken 3rd gen iPad to iOS 7.
completely agree, the reason I am debt free(since 2008) was because of his methods.
I have been doing this method since 2007 and I can say it works, may take a few months to get everything down, but once you get it down makes managing your money super easy.
it should always go over....period.
I have XBMC running on a jailbroken iPad 3rd Gen, and on a Nexus 7, and using both, I can say 7 inches is too small of a display(for me anyway). I prefer the 10 inch tablets, and probably helps the iPad made that the standard, and going smaller seems to small.
