Movies are happy to lift the embargo early if they know they have a great film. Good counter is how the embargo for Justice League was lifted on the Tuesday of the movies release because they were worried about negative press.

This movie is going to kill its opening week and likely the next couple weekends after. I’m interested to see if it has the same kind of legs as Wonder Women in that it had a solid opening weekend making it #1, but its longevity and people returning to see it more than once created huge numbers by the end of its run.

Honestly I think the key here is religion and not just the south or Alabama. I’m from central NY area and have friends who would for the most part be considered liberal on a lot of issues, but abortion is head and shoulders above any other in their mind when it comes to voting.
