You don't think Nancy's ramblings could have been the result of shock…?

It certainly was and it was utterly brilliant. I have both seasons on DVD and it's amazing how well it's aged as well.

I was not a big fan of Luther despite the great actors in it, but yeah - Steven Mackintosh is *always* brilliant. I've seen him in a few things and he's one of those quietly but wildly compelling actors.. the fact that he's in this is enough to convince me to at least try it.

That's funny - I *loved* the BBC Life on Mars ending - it ws one of the best finales in the whole history of television, in my opinion. But I absolutely *hated* the ending to Ashes to Ashes.. much more than I disliked this Awake finale (which I was less than crazy about)!

Am not arguing my interpretation was the one true reading! But it is how I read it.. and I found it disappointing. I mean I too had read what Killen has said about what he intended for this episode to represent - I just don't think he did it very successfully. My boyfriend, who was watching it with me, thought it

Look, I'm glad other people got more out of this than I did.. I've been a loyal viewer and supporter of the show from the start and I really wanted to like the finale. As I said it was just 'to me' that the episode read as it all having been a dream - from Britten leaving his bedroom and having his son comment on how

To me, the finale read quite unambiguously (and very, very annoyingly) as 'it was all a dream'.

Judging from the reactions below, am clearly going to have to revisit that Larry King episode! (Maybe the fact I don't live in the US and am unfamiliar with Mr King has led me to undervalue it.) But it just goes to show that that stretch of shows really was exceptional.. I absolutely love the Valentine's Day episode

Thanks so much for this segment - it's been huge fun to read so far (as the other similar articles where showrunners go over a season episode by episode have always been - it's an inspired concept).. am really looking forward to the next parts.

I reckon there's an absoutely amazing string of fantastic episodes from that time - Apollo Apollo sits somewhere in the midde of it. From Generalissimo (episode 10 of season 3) right through* to the non-stop brilliance of Jackie Jormp-Jomp (episode 18), they barely put a foot wrong, in my opinion - it's a really
