I am Australian and personally I can't stand AusNTM. Yeah, the model hopefuls are younger (and often more attractive than in the other shows) and are therefore more likely to make it in the industry in the future, but partly because they're all so young, they're dull and/or schoolgirl-bitchy bullies.. it's like

Yeah - cheers - thanks for all that behind-the-scenes info, which is a thousand times more interesting than the actual, wildly predictable yawn of a show.

I agree! Unlike Meredith Blake, I liked it a lot better than last year's finale.

It hadn't occurred to me, I have to admit, but I literally did LOL at Meredith Blake's link there..

I could not agree with you more about the axe-grinders - it's absolutely bizarre, the level of vitriol this show and Dunham has attracted - enough already. Fine if you don't like the show but the really disgusting and misogynist commentary is out of line and yes - really damn tedious and repetitive.

This is a genuine question, Todd VanDerWerff - do you usually speculate on a TV writer's motives like this:

I'm with you guys - man, I am in love with this show! (I felt the same way about Mad Men after only 4 episodes too, by the  way.. and I continue to love it as well.) And I'm 15 years older than the Girls girls, and not only am I not from NY, I'm not even American. And yet *gasp* I think it's hilarious, unique,

I loved it too.. but I am well and truly madly in love with the entire show now - I think it's absolutely fantastic.

I was the same! But by 'teen' I mean when I was especially hungover and in my mid-twenties.. suddenly I would find it verging on impossible to step on a downward-heading one.. thank god that's not the case any more, 'cause I'm very lazy.

Thanks, but the toughest thing by far in following this case is trying to drunm up personal interest in it.

On predicting what might happen to Astra, Noel says:

The very quick image of DotCom in the background with an apple on his head and an arrow stuck in the wall behind him that had clearly just narrowly missed his face was perfection, I thought. The expression on his face alone was priceless.

Oh, I *loved* the second live show - a lot more than the first (which I appreciated as a gimmick but not much more than that). The second one was brilliant, in my opinion.. better than either of the QofJ eps, in fact.

Yeah, so was I! I'm assuming that Avery isn't coming back to the show, but I haven't read anything on it.. does anyone know if Elizabeth Banks is actually returning for an episode or more?

(Nice username.)

Really enjoyable review - thank you!

Ahhh! Well done! I knew I'd seen her before but I would have had to look that up.

Both JVDB's Guy Ritchie scenes were brilliantly done! He really is a better actor than he often gets credit for being, I think - his final scene with Kiernan Shipka in the previous episode was also hilarious. This was my favourite episode so far.
