She has that perfect "this angle ethereal loveliness this angle DEATH" that made her perfect for the role.
She has that perfect "this angle ethereal loveliness this angle DEATH" that made her perfect for the role.
OH THANK GOD.
It's okay! IT'S OKAY, EVERYONE! It was a SIMILE, not a METAPHOR.
We can all go home. Feminism over. Good job, y'all. :butt pat:
My only gripe with this remake is the choice for lead. As a fan of the original Carrie was a weak, timid, scrawny, withered looking character due to the fact she has taken years of abuse from her insane mother. The way she looks it made sense, typically a meak looking person like this would be made fun of in High…
you can go away now. never come back.
It isn't begging the question to presume that power dynamics which imprison individuals into roles as a consequence of their sex are not "the best way." We know there are other ways which do not do this which are implicitly better by virtue of enabling people to grow in all the ways available to them.
Glad I'm not the only one who saw '09 and '10 and thought FUCK FUCKING TWILIGHT.
I see you, 2010 Twihard moms.
Yes! I experienced that as well. I feel like #5 in this cracked.com article sums it up well:

I don't think the nerdy smile and sweet personality are the reason why you are getting rejected. It's probably more because you view women as, at best, dogs and, at worst, prostitutes.
Didn't I tell you to shut up, Terry? Man, you just don't listen.
"At a dance competition ... the t-shirt read Matt:1 Daisy: 0"
Is this really how we want our children treating one-another? Even if you assume that Daisy's entire story was a lie (I do not), she would be a very unhappy, troubled girl who needed help - not bitchy, unpleasant t-shirts.
That's one shirt I'd love to…
I know the consensus on Anonymous is mixed, but that they've taken on sexual assault and rape makes me have some slight hope for humanity.
Wow, man, you had it sO HARD. It's not like we are barely getting over a terrible recession oft-compared to the pre-Clinton recession. It's not like millions of Milennials were latchkey kids and get college degrees despite financial hardships and have to claw their way out of flipping burgers. You are the Most…
Unless Erin is dating a lot of younger men- it appears that the kidult she was dating was one of your generation. Maybe he was just too lazy to bother to learn basic life skills? That's what y'all were known for, right? Slacking?
That's the millenial experience of privilege. A lot of us millienials, an ever increasing number of us grew up WITHOUT that privilege. I hate the way millienial is tossed around like we're all from the same perfect little late 1980s, 1990s nuclear family.
Fuck that.
Be nice, we millennial will be deciding which millennials-staffed nursing home you will end up.
I'm a millenial, and when my father got divorced he couldn't clean, cook or do his own laundry because he didn't know how. But millenials are the WORST, amirite? They're clearly the only ones who don't know how to do this stuff.
I think it should be in both — start in middle school, continue through high school. What was taught in 8th grade was a valuable starting point but I'd love to see it continued through high school and even offered in college.
I'm all for bringing back mandatory Home Ec, but it should be taught in late high school, not in eighth grade like when I took it.
