When I was 16 years old, I lived in the Eastern Panhandle of WV, and I got the opportunity to visit Ft McHenry in Baltimore with a friend’s father. Baltimore is about 90 miles away, so it was a daytrip. Mom got me excused from school for the visit and all was well.
