$500,000 is the value of the jewels meaning the thieves won't see nearly that much when they try to hock the goods. Seems like an awful small payoff for such a large and elaborate heist.

Yeah it is odd that they would spend this kind of money and not develop an infrastructure for it... It wouldn't be that costly to put in a waste water treatment plant. Especially since they are building the whole city from the ground up.

From my experience they should be hand washed. If you put them in the washing machine they tend to collect lint and fuzz from other items in the wash that may ruin the rag.
