I mean, angry feminists will generalize a lot about how all cis men are terrible — and when people want to point out that’s not true or the lack of context, the response is usually #YesAllMen.

But I get what you’re saying and you’re right — just pointing out that anger does away with a lot of nuance and granularity.

If you do something, and people pay you real money for it, it’s a real job.  Hope that helps!

Angry people don’t think. They react. They SHOULD be mad only at the harassers. But let’s be blunt.. they’re not going to be. Any time you’re dealing with a group of people, you should assume that most of them are idiots.

Its rather simple

But name-calling, doxxing, and death threats are bullying.

You can thank those harassers for that. That’s “activism” for you.

Here’s the thing; it doesn’t even matter if that’s why she’s graduating, and this is why I have said for years that the unfocused backlash mentality of social media would hurt us more than helping.

Agreed, and many commenters here are trying to hide or downplay it too.

See I agree. That’s not what was happening though. She was being told to off herself, sent death treats, and generally hounded by insane terminally online Twitter psychos.

I’m not 100% sure how factual the dates are, but I recall seeing something along these lines in other comments in other medias:

the pocket change an individual author is making from a video game isn’t making a noticable contribution to a “genocidal hate movmement” as you put it. But if you’re really that concerned about this individual and the ridiculous things she advocates for then you’re going to need to get a time machine and go back in

you sound like you are implying that harassment, bullying, doxx threats and death threats are okay if they were not the “direct” cause or the “primary” reason for her departure.

Downplaying and deflecting the treatment (harassment, doxxing of friends and families, death threats, etc.) the streamers got as “Criticism” is just downright sad to see.

1 is nostalgia bait with likely little to no re-playability. People are gonna play it for now, eventually like the majority of games it’ll have little to no streams unless a big name randomly decides to stream it and spikes viewership for a moment. That’s pretty normal.

Pikamee is as squaky clean a Vtuber as they come. Never controversial, always positive, has an incredible community behind her. I read the stuff that was being flung at her at the time, and the part that makes it worse is that if you know her history with being bullied for being a hafu her entire childhood, it makes

Because Pikamee’s Hogwarts Legacy tweets have been deleted, it’s hard to get a holistic view of how strongly people actually opposed her stream, though evidence suggests the criticism was clear in its disappointment but did not seem to escalate to harassment.

amazing how many have latched onto this idea that buying and playing a game might give a couple dollars to a hateful biggot, but this has never applied to any other game where hateful biggots have been the face of them.  I’m sure this website will run yet another article heaping unedning praise on the fake Lego game

It’s a single player game, so whoever was going to play it has done so and moved on. Pretty easy to understand.

To be fair though - why would you stream if you know it is just going result in grief?

Gotta love how biased this article is written.
