Agreed.  I’ve read several ways he could legally win in 2020, especially if races are very tight in key states.  I think it was Newsweek that had the article, where basically if some of the electoral votes are certified then it goes to the States themselves, and more of them are Republican than Democrat.  *sigh*

I wonder too about my relative and the care she gives to her patients. She is a pediatric nurse practitioner. My husband told me not to fact check her for the sake of not creating drama, when she posts conspiracies on Facebook. But I know many of her friends know she’s a nurse and will probably believe her nonsense.

No kidding. I have a relative with a Masters in Nursing and is a Nurse Practitioner.  She drank that 45 Kool Aid and has become awful.  She totally believes the COVID vaccine / Bill Gates = satan / microchip conspiracies.  I can’t even with that level of stupidity.

I know of many parents who would kill for their kids to be back in school for many reasons. But they’re also hesitant to send them back into a germ box. My parent friends already get stuck dealing with all sorts of colds their kids bring home. One bad flu season, took out a neighbor of mine for a month. Her daughter

For awhile there you could get tests, but with cases going up like crazy in so many places, it’s becoming difficult to get one.  I was reading that some have to get to test sites at 3 AM to make sure they get one before they close.  If you’re super sick, are you able to do that?  Or people in Arizona are stuck in high

I have a few of these Breonna Taylor meme people in my feed. I know they mean well. I too feel powerless right now. Between COVID-19, job losses, and racial tensions, it’s tough. Clicking the share button on a meme is easy. I get that some are uneasy about joining protests between getting sick or injured, and it’s

I grew up in Indiana and saw Confederate flags all of the time.  I remember being out with my mom and 2 of her friends - all Yankees - and the monument debate came up.  They’re older, and they’re all for keeping the Confederate monuments up, because heaven forbid people forget such awful history.  I was

It depends on what I’m cooking / baking, and for how long. Something that’s going to spatter grease or involve lots of flour, then it’s apron time. Otherwise, I wear my usual clothes, which means since I’m at home, it’s probably an old t-shirt and sweatpants, so I don’t care if those get a bit messy.

As long as childcare is seen as a “woman’s problem”, change is going to be difficult. Male allies are much needed. The only people I’ve been hearing from about the childcare situation during the pandemic, are women. One female neighbor was telling me all of the struggles she had - trying to run her own business out of

So true. I think there’s little that he could do that’s going to change the minds of most of his cult followers. Given the shit show of the past few years, and people still love him, is telling. At best, any juicy details in the book will be a distraction and tweet storms, which will prevent him from doing his job. I

I machine wash and hang to dry.  I know that’s not great but I’m too lazy to hand wash.  I’ve had some bras, where the underwire popped out after the 2nd washing.  :( Some have taken years before the wire pops out or breaks.  I’m done with underwires and the red marks they leave.

I’m a 34C-ish, while not tiny but not necessarily huge either. My cystic breasts aren’t so perky, and I get the underboob sweat and it’s horribly uncomfortable. So even at home, I tend to wear a bra or a camisole with built in shelf bra for support. As much as I like the shaping I get from underwire bras with a molded

As much as I loathe 45 and his supporters, the supporters I do know are into mask wearing and social distancing. They were never the rally attending types, but they’re all older, have health issues, or are around people with health problems. They get the seriousness of COVID-19, so they wear masks.

It’s all awful. I don’t know of anyone who is happy.

I’ve had similar thoughts.  Maybe this is the ‘rock bottom’ you have to hit before real change is made.  I hope change is made.

Good. It’s a step in the right direction but there’s still so much work to do.

Yup. The Washington Post had an article about Alpharetta, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, and how after the state started opening, a bunch of (white) people were out and about at this outdoor mall called Avalon. Very few were wearing masks, even the old. No one cared there was a pandemic. Very few knew people that had

It will probably take a good 4 - 6 weeks.  I’m in Georgia, and after the state opened up, cases were going down, but about 3 weeks afterwards, there was a spike back up.  Some say that’s due to more testing.  But there’s now another spike, probably because of people going out and about for Memorial Day weekend.  Give
