Yeah, I’m confused by the “you’ll have to wait for service, and what about the death panels?” Um, we already have long waiting lists in the USA and the “death panels” are called “United Health”, “Anthem” etc.

“Like no one in the US speaks Finnish so how many people in Finland could possibly speak English?  Oh, it’s a lot huh?”

We’ll also have government “death panels” that will deny us healthcare and let us die!

She is pretty smart, it’s the whole “being a terrible person (even by Republican standards)” where she really falls down.

This is so funny to me as a (North American) Finn. There’s a phrase ‘torilla tavataan’ which is a gently mocking in-joke about how Finns are obsessed with any international attention, mostly because it doesn’t happen that often. For real. My mummo and äiti can tell me off the dome which famous people are Finnish, that

Hope your back is doing better.

Aye, but it’s not just the subsidization  -- it’s also the controlling of prices, limitations on profits and different approaches to quality control, training and malpractice. There’s so much more about the European health care systems than subsidization and raw costs per procedure or service.

They think that if we elect “the socialists” then the government will decide if you get healthcare or not. They think if they get old and get sick, the government will be judge and jury on if they’re sick enough to get treatment. They don’t understand that everyone gets health care under this system no matter what.

Canadian here, my wife gave birth last year... We received free ultrasounds and prenatal testing throughout, free access to midwifery care, free access to a birth centre that was like a hotel suit with a fireplace and a tub. My wife had complications, we were transferred to a hospital (for free), had an emergency

She was right in a way, I didn’t like the answer. Mostly in that I’m now angry that Finns pay barely anything for great healthcare, while I’m paying out of my asshole for...let’s say adequate health care.

My dad was a fully insured American and had to wait nine months to get a back surgery he needed.

Oh god, the Wait Time sermons. As opposed to the mighty USA, where my mother has to schedule appointments with her specialist... a year in advance.

Got beaten by my(now ex) boyfriend for an hour. Waited 12 hours in the ER. Cried because I was in so much pain and my back hurt every time I took a breath because part of the beating included him kicking me and throwing me against the wall, repeatedly. Finally saw a doctor who asked me if my voice was normally really

I’m in Canada. I went to a clinic on Wednesday for back pain. Got a same day appointment. Waited about 15 minutes. Got a prescription for pain medication. Went to another clinic for an x-ray. Waited less than 1 minute. All told I lost about 1 hour of work and paid a total of $9 (for the medication.) I’m so happy I’m

The argument I used to hear when I worked with the wealthy out-of-touch Republicans at my last job was the wait times! You’ll have to wait so long! Because more people are getting care when they should clearly go without so I can see my doctor earlier.

The hospital system I normally went to decided to just up and close their dermatology department. I made a new patient appointment with the other major hospital system in our city in June 2018. That appointment was last week.

It’s like arguing with anti-vaxxers. Continuously repeating the claim that the U.S. healthcare system is the best in the world is not much different from repeating the claim that vaccines cause autism. They are both equally false with plenty of data to prove they’re false.

I have enjoyed these tweets. Haley’s problem is she’s comparing the cost to the citizen, seeing a lower number for Finns and assuming it must have been a lesser product because she can’t fathom a government subsidizing health costs for the benefit of its people without worry for profit.

But but but...if we had some commie pinko European socialist healthcare here we’d have to wait MONTHS just to get in to see a doctor!

Obviously our healthcare is better. More expensive means better. Why skimp on your health? Why would you want to get treated for $60 when you could get a luxury $20,000 treatment?
