One thing I love is that this show has a lot that feels like Louie, without it ever feeling like it's trying to imitate it. This show continues to surprise me in different combinations of characters that all work better than you would expect.

I love his genuine surprise. At first I was worried how this plot would work and it ended up being my favorite of the episode. Also the two of them are great and didn't go over the top with the crying and still maintained their not so great grasp on emotions and how to deal with them.

To be fair to Michael, since Mateo's birth Jane has made it pretty clear that she wants him around, at the very least as a friend.
