Age limits won’t work. Ross Douthat, Tucker Carlson, Rick Santorum, and Ted Cruz are a few GOP guys who have espoused the opinions of 80 year old men when they were in their 20s.

My dad used to pull the “ladylike” crap on me. Telling him that I learned how to curse, etc, from him never worked, it was only after I sharply retorted, “Since I am a lady, my behavior is, by its very nature, ladylike,” coupled with the death stare that I inherited from his mother, that he finally stopped.

Jezzies have criticized me for this before, but this sort of thing is exactly why I hate that society has started calling me women ladies. There are gendered behavioral connotations with the word lady. It is a way of saying we should mind our manners, not make waves, and not raise our voices.

I wish there was an age restriction or term limits or something that got these old fucks out of the government faster. We need fresh minds. We need diversity. We don’t need old white men getting older but still in complete and total control of a world that is changing far faster than they can possibly keep up with.

I’m desperately trying to keep my cat from cooking our family dinner every night.

I sat next to a couple who were writing their NYT wedding announcement and I had to live text it to my friend group chat because it was soooooo ridiculous. I wish I could find it. They met in an a capella group at Yale, I believe.

Oh man. I teared up watching her tear up. Immediately I knew it was because she was proud and overwhelmed. I think I have that sympathy gene thing because I cry whenever I see someone else cry and am over emotional at other people’s emotions. Really looking forward to seeing this though!

Nobody who watched this in 01 would have guessed ScarJo would go on to become the huge megastar. Thora Birch absolutely killed it and I’ll never get over her crazy stage dad killing her career.

I’d just like to add that it’s a damn shame that Thora Birch’s career, for various reasons, hit an iceberg. She’s so good in this and should have gone on to even better things.

I (somewhat) know Joe Alwyn (worked on a movie together). He’s exceptionally sweet and very adorable. Don’t think they met through their agents as they’re repped at different places, but I’m perfectly okay with them dating as he was an unwaveringly lovely person to be around when we were working together.

Something about her feels incredibly genuine and lacking in artifice, it’s such a rare quality that it’s sort of mesmerising.
