Danny's not what you'd call a big picture guy.

Yeah, it is fair to say that they have a hard time defining what exactly the Black Sky is supposed to be. There's some nice implications about Alexandra viewing her as a daughter - but even then, it's not really made clear what else Alexandra expects from her except to be a seemingly impossible-to-defeat assassin.
Hey, if it gives an excuse for more of characters like Colleen, Misty, and Claire interacting, I don't much mind the justification.
So do we take this to mean that Stick used to be one of Gao's disciples?
If it means more story material for Colleen, then yes: yay!
With this episode, I kind of feel like Matt's the only one of the four characters really getting a story arc this season. Or perhaps rather to say, a substantial story arc. (He's really the only one with internal conflict that's driven by the show's central narrative; Luke and Jessica are both a bit more along for…
All the imdb interviews they did are delightful: https://www.youtube.com/wat…
*sighs in disappointment that Charlie Cox is taken*
It is? That's disappointing. It's been a lot longer since we've seen Daredevil than Iron Fist.
I love that Luke responds to all of Danny's "take me seriously!" earnestness with a scoff, or an eyeroll. It's so perfect. I'd love to see that fleshed out more: that Luke basically seems to see through all of Danny's bravado and insecurities.
I just hope he doesn't get dropped from the franchise now that his story from first season is done.
Well, now that they all know each other, I'd love if this meant that they could pop up on each other's shows. And given how Hulk is being used in the next Thor, or how Black Widow was the secondary protagonist in Winter Solider, surely they could use that as a template for the shows if they wanted.
Given that she had a thing with Luke, and he briefly had a thing with Claire, and they're now together…there would be something oddly entertaining in having Matt and Jessica briefly get together (though it would of course ultimately be a disaster and end after a few tumultuous days).
I feel like it's a better response from others towards his character, and one reason why he fell so flat on his own show. No one else seemed capable of or willing to call him out on his naivete.
Check out press junket interviews where Cox and Ritter are paired together. Their chemistry is off the charts.
Extra points for the nerdiness of this post.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up.
I haven't read the comics, but I do feel like "fun Danny" should be the default. Angsty Danny doesn't really work - and Matt's better at the brooding anyway.
I think having the other characters on this show harp on him so much helps make it seem more intentional from the writers how much of a fool he can be. And him being the gung-ho earnest champion of the team is a good look for him.
I thought it was far more foolish how he just strolled into that boardroom expecting he could tell them what's what. As is often the case with Danny, he has noble intent - but he goes about things in the most doltish ways.
