The vehicle IS compliant if it meets the regulatory standards. The third party admits they aren’t replicating the testing standards. It warrants a look, but almost every engine pollutes more in real world scenarios than the lab tests. The problem is when it is only in the lab that they ever are compliant.

The engines are emissions compliant, this is about disclosure of control logic which the EPA changed the rules on AFTER the engine went through the approval process. The EPA fucked up here.

Diesels pollute more in real world than on test!!!!

I find the claim by the researchers regarding the need to turn off certain emissions system to be completely off-base. They don’t know the lifecycle behavior of these engines, they don’t know what effect the emissions have on the acidity levels of the oil and how that affects the components of the motor.

There are two issues with this. 1. Engineers design the engine, transmissions, and software around the EPA test cycle. 2. Diesels are inherently bad polluters at transient operation due to the combustion being sensitive to rate of changes in Air, in-cylinder temp, and EGR (think about coal rollers, how the exhaust is

Burnin’ is right.
The carry speed / late brake is just as valid for RWD as FWD cars. I drive a Miata - it’s all about maintaining momentum with lightweight low-power car.
FWD has no advantage in how its brakes work or how weight transfers to the front for entering and maintaining through a corner. We can both do

Yes, I’ve never seen a Democrat driving a car they can’t afford, wearing clothes they can’t afford, or talking on a phone they can’t afford.

I read a little of there testing methods before I waved off entirely. It’s a joke.

If they all pass the EPA mandated test without switching to a test mode like VW did, then this is on the EPA making too narrow of a test and not on the automakers for adhering to that test.

All of these philosophical arguments ignore the fact that this lawsuit is likely a way to get lawyers rich above all else.

So... because real world driving causes more emissions than controlled conditions lab testing, it’s the manufacturers fault for passing the test? How about changing the test?

Unlike the other suits... this one is made by people who dont know what the hell they’re doing.

Oh the cash grabs have started? cool.
Lets see:

Cash grab - that’s really all this is. I barely made it through the introduction and have questions for whatever lawyer wrote this complaint.

Do you sell a Diesel model? Lawyers all be like...

Where is new castle only 2 bucks?

Agreed.

It is undoubtedly a handsome car, but I’m still partial to the brutish looks of the E82 chassis.

“the body is very clearly an improvement over the bendy-ness of the former 1 Series”

Thats a lot of money to drive a Fiat 500 loaner most of the year.
