Old German cars were reliable and fixable.

I’m here because I love cars. I love E30s. I love weird Kei cars. I love old muscle cars. I go to car shows and lust over pristine Buick Grand Nationals.

My taste has changed somewhat... With a Dad who was a native German & a car guy, so there was always a near-genetic bias towards German cars. Mom & Dad had a pair of 356s “B. C.” (before children), and we grew up hearing many tales of their days in PCA & SCCA. I grew up wanting nothing so badly as a 944 Turbo.

Sideswiped by an oncoming 18 wheeler that crossed a centerline while riding my motorcycle on the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee (this was before they were nominally banned from that road). Separated from my bike immediately and cartwheeled through the air coming to rest in a ditch, surprisingly I didn’t black out but…

One of my favorite automotive joys is driving around on a chilly fall afternoon with the windows down and seat heaters cranked plus the heater blowing warm air on your feet.

In almost every area, I’d rather read an article than watch a video. A lot of times, if I click on a link that sounds interesting and it leads to a video, I just close it. I can read faster than a video can play, and I don’t want to sit there waiting.
