Buy pots you can transplant to indoors if the weather goes to hell. I had a room mate in college who tried to grow corn indoors in these big pots. They got huge but we didn't have the heart to tell him about his cross pollination issue.

Normally, we start seedlings indoors in early March and transfer them when its warm enough. Would have already started by now if we were not moving. This year we will probably buy starters from Home Depot or Bachmans.

You can essentially buy a potato, leave it on the shelf until it starts to show roots. When the roots are an inch or so plant it. Gonna need a big ass pot though.

Surely this 10% a year rule is over the course of a loan. For instance if a person is making 42k a year (for consistency sake) that person should limit his car allotment for the year to 4200, meaning that with a 4 year loan that person has $16800 - interest to spend on a car. This is far more realistic.

If your employer doesn't match, there's no reason to use the 401k. That doesn't mean your savings has to be "after tax." That's what IRAs are for. You can sock away plenty pre-tax in a regular IRA, or if you are willing to do after-tax, put it in a Roth IRA and your distributions will all be tax free in retirement.

Here's an easier way.

They all come with pre-paid envelopes. It costs these companies more to have that envelope returned than it does to send the mail out.

Simply take their letter, write across it, "Remove me from your mailing list" and send it back to them in their envelope.
