Strictly speak JS is not a programming language, however it has become very popular so there is great applications for one that knows it.At Harvard they still teach C as the beginner language and its most likely because you have to learn "real" programming to program in C, however I feel it's a little bit outdated (I

Yea, either is great if you want to move onto anything else in the future. Whatever you have better resources available for to learn would be the way to go

There's also considerable research showing that people who are mildly depressed have a more accurate grasp of reality than people who aren't. Though it's hard to figure out which way THAT arrow points, eh? Are they depressed because they understand what's going on a little better, or do they understand what's going on

I agree. Things are slow to be done in C (and after compiling they run fast!), but C is the language that gives programmers the richest vocabulary and allows them to go use almost any other language without much struggle.

When I was a kid learning to program (in the 80's!!) I fought through Basic, then Turbo Pascal, then Turbo Basic and Turbo Prolog. Then I got a copy of Turbo C and all that other crap went in the bin. C worked like my brain did and that made it SO much easier to learn and use. Good call!

Not saying you're wrong at all! I was just advocating caution when speaking of evolutionary adaptations, and pointing out that the second one certainly exists, but I didn't mention it because it's not nearly as strong a bias. Not a "You're wrong" at all - more of a "sure, but-". :D

Hah - this is absolutely fantastic Eric. :D

Great read!

I don't think it's so special. Every person is different. Some need 6 hours, others 10 hours of sleep. I need more, too.

I'm with your mom. I have an Accord and I love it. When I was dealing with babies and toddlers and car seats, it seemed like everyone I knew thought my husband should get me a minivan. I'd say, "Are you kidding?!? Then I'd have to drive a minivan!"

Education is in no way a replacement for seniority, but then again, the street smarts demonstrated by deferring to others for better solutions than you can offer trumps all. That said, it's human nature to want to fit in, as much as anything else, so one consideration might be to demonstrate (over-demonstrate) a

Pixelmator. I signed up for the recent bargain-price for Photoshop CC/Lightroom 5 deal, but I still use Pixelmator for quick fix-ups. The price is right and it's very flexible and talented. Highly recommended.

Sharing too much information puts you at a higher risk for identity theft, not necessarily how common or uncommon your name is. All indicators and experts say to let your common sense be your guide. If you would not readily share some piece of information with a person standing on the street, it is probably wise not

While I cannot specifically speak to Credit Karma, as with any type of insurance, buying a security package costs money and provides some peace of mind. The decision whether the out of pocket cost is “worth” the benefits attained is truly up to the individual. Some things to consider:

I agree, I tried this a few months back and failed miserably. I skipped my morning coffee, because I couldn't sleep the night before. I didn't want to seem jittery in the interview. It backfired, terribly. This was my 4th interview with the company and I was extremely nervous to begin with. I was asked a series of
