You answered your own question in your comment. The biggest reason most developers develop for iOS first is due to the number of devices the app has to work on. Since Android is an open platform, with hundreds of devices it takes a lot longer to program something for it that works on all devices.

I'm afraid this may damage the copper wire inside the cable. And because of that I do the opposite: nothing, literally just drop it in a pocket, so there's no energy stored. Hence it does not tangle.

Every pair of earbuds I've ever owned has eventually gone flakey on me from just regular wear and tear. Twisting and winding your buds every time you put them away seems like a good way to speed up their trip to the dump.
