Money lending is shady by its very nature, and government oversight has done very little to change that. The root ethic of the business is indentured servitude. History has shown us what kind of people are drawn to such modes of profit, and how they behave toward society.

And if that is all we can manage to make, then projects like this are science fiction, at least for now. It isn't like Kennedy saying we can get to the moon, the actual physical mechanics for that were understood, and the materials were already there.
