I'm Canadian and done it a few times now. There's so much you get back from it that is not financial- it's the best thing I've ever done.

Yep. I'm white, and have been an egg donor twice. I respond well to the meds, but would that be the case if was a different racial background?
It's gotten a lot better in the last 2-3 years- there is a new procedure available.
I'm considering freezing mine within the next year. Done egg donation 2x, setting up a 3rd and 4th for this winter. I'll go for a 5th round for myself and keep them in case I want them for the future. If not, Ill donate them at that time!
It might not be that painful, but the injections and the post-op isn't all rainbows. It;s not really something to be taken lightly. I'm a 2x donor.
Not everyone sees it that way. Some of us really want to experience pregnancy (I kind of do, and would like to look into surrogacy). Some women really want to carry their husband's baby and use donor eggs to do so. Some lesbian couples take the eggs from one partner, fertilize them with donor sperm and implant them in…
A lot of people in the (in)fertility community have done the math on adopting versus trying to do IVF- it's cheaper in the long run, for most. Also, in certain places (like the UK) you can't adopt if you're over 40, so if you want to be a parent you have no choice but to go through IVF.
The storage is easy, true, but it is not that easy to extract the eggs, as mentioned above. I've donated eggs twice (and with a 3rd in the works) and each time I had to do about 30 injections of hormones and went through a day surgery. Doing all that to a woman who is ill already would be really taxing. Also, the…
Just so you know, if you're encouraging women to do it, it's a pretty invasive medical procedure too. I've been an egg donor twice and it involves about 30 hormone injections and a surgery. It's not to be taken lightly.
My ex and I discussed what we would do if we got married, and the answer was... change BOTH of our last names to his mum's maiden name. That name was going to not be passed on to the next generation (his mum had 3 boys, and they all had her husband's name, meanwhile her only brother had 4 girls and they all had their…
Well, I've donated my eggs twice now, and I've been asked recently to donate again anonymously. I don't think I'll ever do that. If they want to find me, they can. If they want to know their genetic cousins (my neices), they can.
It screams fake but I really want it to be real...
Hm. I live in winterland too. Maybe I should try this. My blackhead problem isn't terrible but I tend to pick at them b/c they are on the underside of my chin. Funny enough, I've had them there since I was 27 (and not before) and I am 33 now. There is one thing that made them go away. I was on weird injectible…
I found one about 7 years ago. It gives me a muffin top, but is perfect to hold them up.
Not to mention, the coffee mugs are 99% likely to have been made in China.
I could have really used this project as a queer youth in a christian family.
The studies that did show a link were inconclusive, and a little flawed from a stats perspective. The samples were self-selecting, and that's really no good. Major cancer reserach organizations have debunked the link, so I feel pretty safe using anti=perspirant, still, I use Toms most days because I prefer to use moe…
Me too, esp the gaslighting part. I'm so proud of myself for being pretty much over it.
