I’ll be right over and bring the chips.
I’ll be right over and bring the chips.
Trying to think of my gateway to I Can Make That! I spent a long time in my 20s doing Cooks Illustrated recipes and trying new stuff, and there definitely were a bunch of moments where I had that a ha moment. Maybe it was making a whole roast chicken? It’s not that technical, not that involved, and the results are so…
I get that way with Yakuza games when I'm trying to 100% things. Persona games, at least, seem to meter things out well and late game advanced persona crafting is usually really fun for me. AC Odyssey had a lot of little quests and stuff to bounce between, and the DLC was really well paced.
I hear you. I love long games, but with some I get to the point where I want to wrap things up already. Others I want to linger on in. Really depends on if the core game play is fun enough or if it’s all just final grinding or completionism tasks. With Death Stranding, the core game play loop is winding down, and most…
The nice thing about both my wife and I liking to bake and make food is that we keep a good balance of sharing and receiving. She’s been making lunches for us and I tackle dinners, and we’ve both made various desserts. I do miss making big things to share with more people, as though I *can* eat a whole pie by myself,…
I’m reading this while listening to a podcast (Working People) that has one person recalling their path and time in management consulting and talking about the myths and issues of a “meritocratic” white collar work system... Which is to say, that really sucks and I’m sorry it’s happening to you. Fingers crossed for a…
That's awesome!
Oh, fun! I think the oddest thing about this game is that I can’t play it casually. I haven't finished it because it sucks my focus in and is such a joy to play. The voice sounds are totally key, too. No podcasts or music while playing.
Okay, now I'm hungry.
Dang, I'm impressed! I would feel really unsure about cooking any deer/venison, not having any experience. What's the secret? A quick char but keep it on the rare side? Or a lower heat?
Did a quick grilling day last weekend and it was glorious. It was only some asparagus and then a mess of kalbi short ribs, but it was 85 degrees out and all was right for a while. Definitely restocking the charcoal this next store trip.
Yeah, I haven’t been stopping to take in the scenery too much. I also haven’t been playing anything else. The delivery game loop has been really satisfying for me right now. I can zone out a little, put on an audiobook, and make progress. I’ve enjoyed getting peppers online and then linking up zip line networks to…
My current job has also nailed me with self doubt and feelings of inadequacy. I’m objectively doing fine and keeping my head above water, but I don't feel it. Ugh. Here's to your new endeavor going a whole lot better!
The one bit of “normal” I’d like to get back to is the drop in. Gotta run an errand, hey, I can drop in on that coffee shop on the way. Oh, I can also drop in to that other place for that one little thing. And there’s nothing going on tonight, might as well drop in to the theater for a movie. Every outing right now is…
Coming soon, new Facebook AIM! In the near future, everyone gets 15 minutes of FAIM free! Every hour after that costs 500 Zynga tokens. Zynga tokens come in packs of ten for $5 each.
I’ve had coworkers using Memojis in PowerPoint presentations for years now, at a government agency, which should mean that this sort of thing is ancient history as far as tech trends are concerned. What's next, Facebook starts mailing us free trial cds?
Secretly hoping for a surprise Tom Holland voice cameo, but actually hopeful for an Insomniac Spider-Man outfit version
Geoff Rowley not looking like a kid? Weird.
I can confidently say that it’s a trash movie that has not held up over time, but there are definitely still a lot of moments in it that I thoroughly and stupidly enjoy.
Awesome! Thank you. That gives me hope for new hobbies.
