Some you get during the main missions (most in the second half, I think), some from side missions (the asynchronous and janitor outfits), and at least one through very obscure activities (gold suit). Some were DLC as part of the season pass. You can only change outfits at the central executive control point.

This. The whole game is such a hot head trip. And I'm also a fan of the numerous outfits that accentuate her strength and presence--the gold suit and asynchronous outfit in particular, and the matrix-y cyberpunk of the astral dive suit. Awesome designs. 

I’ve never played it but that Isaac run was fascinating. Also Mitchflowerpower owning the SMB3 race again was delightful. 

3 has great parts, 4 is really well plotted and has tons of variety. Haven’t played 5 yet but everything I’ve read makes it sound ridiculously stuffed full of content.
